A Journey in Color, A Dance of Forms

The inspiration comes out of
the land of the Southwest,
the whole heritage is still there –
in the red rocks, in the earth,
which has so miraculously supported
such peoples of color, of ritual,
of dance and ceremony.

The whole Southwest was a House made of Dawn,
It was made of Pollen and of Rain.
The Land was Old and Everlasting.
There were many Colors on the Hills
and on the Plain,
And there was a Dark Wilderness
on the Mountains Beyond.
The Land was Tilled and Strong
and it was Beautiful all Around.

The lives of Navajo were permeated with an exhuberant joy in
the richness of living.
The Beauty Way – a ritual for restoring harmony to the earth

Sandipa has explored the map of
her spirit and taken journeys
into far away cultures.
In all her pieces the people assume
the poetry in their souls –
they are immersed into the colors of their natural surroundings.

Ever present in the semi-abstract paintings of Sandipa (pronounced Sandeepa) is the influence of nature
in its infinite variation.
Sandipa is able to to entrust the essential unlimited role to color,
a world where imagination reigns – originating from the right-brain
heart center.
